Here’s why the Philadelphia 76ers should trade Joel Embiid

1.  He’s the best player on this team

This was considered an obvious statement as recently as last summer, but after this year the doubters are growing. After being named All-NBA two seasons in a row, Embiid was left off the list this year, while Ben Simmons, after making huge strides as a defender, made the list for the first time.

More NBA media and players are openly suggesting that if the Sixers were to trade one of them Simmons would fetch more value because his skills are a better fit in the modern NBA.

Both are amazing talents with hurdles between them and MVP status. With Simmons, it is really not his ability to shoot as much as his willingness to do so. In Embiid, the problem seems to be with his work ethic and his commitment to his conditioning, which feels a little scarier, particularly when you factor in his health history.
