Chris opens things up with the recent article written by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, where it is reported that Mike D’Antoni is the lead candidate for the next Sixers head coaching job. They also talk about the fit that the lead candidate would have with the current roster and the blessing of Joel Embiid for management to pull the trigger on hiring D’Antoni.
The pod then shifts attention toward a player who’s fallen out of favor earlier than expected, Al Horford. With all of the possible trades available for a Horford exchange, Lucas, Chris, and Dan dive into a variety players who make sense to bring to the Sixers. How his contract would matchup financially during a trade is also covered.
From there, a conversation is held about the 76ers’ lack of front office movement after an underwhelming season that ended in disappointment. There’s criticisms about management dragging their feet, considering the order of priorities that have been conveyed while the head coaching search has unfolded daily.
The pod finishes up with starting five predictions for next season. With an offseason sure to be filled with surprises, some new faces are expected in Philly. Listen to see who has Chris Paul and Buddy Hield in their lineup.
