The Philadelphia 76ers have three former players in the 2020 NBA Finals.

The Philadelphia 76ers are sadly watching the 2020 NBA Finals from home as they were bounced out of the first round of playoffs against the Boston Celtics. These NBA finals feature the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers with each squad having at least one former member of the Sixers on the roster.

With the NBA Finals about to begin, it seems like a good idea to review who the three former players are and their tenure with the 76ers. The idea of covering this topic originated with Kevin Germany from Valley of Suns.

With the Nuggets he eventually wore out his welcome partially due to a big contract and injuries. As a salary dump move, Denver traded him to the Sixers for a first round pick that became Furkan Korkmaz and the rights to Chukwudiebere Maduabum.

McGee only played six games with the 76ers before getting waived. During that short stretch, he averaged 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

The journeyman center went on to resurrect his career by playing for the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and most recently the Los Angeles Lakers. He’s been a starter with the Lakers during the past two seasons however, his role has been in flux since Los Angeles started their playoff run.
