Mike Scott: Barbary fig

While thinking of what type of plant I’d compare Mike Scott to I realized it needed to be a pretty hardcore plant (that’s a sentence I never thought I’d write). My mind went straight to a Barbary fig, which is a species of prickly pear, which is a genus in the cactus family.

Cacti in general are a pretty hardcore type of plant. The spikes turn animals and people away. I connected this to Mike’s tattoos. They may turn some people away (don’t get me wrong, I think they’re pretty bad-ass).

The Barbary fig is resistant to drought, like sufficient sunlight, and are easy to take care of. Mike Scott hasn’t gotten the best care, especially from the fans as of late. Nonetheless, Mike has kept doing his thing. Though he hasn’t been “incredible”, he still is a huge team player and motivator on and off the court.
