Comparing the Philadelphia 76ers to house plants

Al Horford: Snake plant
Now, I’m not calling Al Horford a snake in any way… or am I? No, I’m really not, I just wanted to make that joke. But the snake plant grows its leaves from the root vertically and is a resilient and tough plant.
Horford has dealt with a lot of criticism from the Philadelphia fanbase (myself included). Through it all, he has remained calm, cool, and collected. Snake plants seem to thrive from neglect and “non-normal” conditions. I wouldn’t necessarily say that Al has “thrived” under the treatment he’s gotten in Philly, but he takes it with a grain of salt and keeps going his thing.
The snake plant symbolizes a long life, due to the longevity of their lifespan as a plant. As one of the older dudes on the team at 34 years old, Horford has a lot to teach a relatively young squad. Will that elongate his career as a Sixer? It’s hard to tell. We’ll see what sort of roster moves are made and what our new head coach sees for the future of the team.
