One potential trade with each Central Division team: Detroit Pistons

At last season’s trade deadline, the Detroit Pistons were shopping Luke Kennard and if they still are, then the Philadelphia 76ers have a solid package to offer the Pistons in exchange for the young sharpshooter.

This trades makes so much more sense for the 76ers than any deal including Blake Griffin. Griffin wouldn’t fit this roster so aiming for a player like Kennard makes so much sense for Philly. While this isn’t an ideal take for Detroit, there is logic as to why they would make the move themselves.

Detroit will have the salary-cap space to take on Horford’s contract this offseason and to be honest, they are in the early stages of a rebuild so taking on bad contracts for young players and draft picks is exactly what they need to do. It’s also rumored by Zach Lowe of ESPN that the Pistons are willing to take on bad deals for picks anyways so this proposed trade fullies that.

Furkan Korkmaz is a downgrade from Kennard but he’s still only 23-years-old and has room to improve and getting the 21st pick is a solid gain for Detroit. The Pistons can use the picks on young players or package them with their own pick at the seventh spot to move up near the top of the draft. Overall for the Pistons, it may be a hard deal to turn down if Philly were to offer it.
