One potential trade with each Central Division team: Indiana Pacers
Recently, Christopher Kline of The Sixer Sense wrote about how Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers is the most obtainable star in the NBA. Kline did a good job outline the pros and cons of a potential deal. He also briefly outlined what a potential deal would look like and this slide is going to go into a bit more.
The only difference between the trade above and Kline’s deal is that I included the 36th pick in this deal. Richardson is the main piece in this deal that makes Indiana consider it. He’s a great two-way wing when healthy and not a major downgrade from Oladipo.
Smith and Scott are primarily salary fillers in this deal but both could have value for the Pacers in a potential deal. Smith a young prospect that the team could evaluate and develop or flip in another trade. Scott is a solid enough stretch four to come off the bench.
Kline had Matisse Thybulle as a potential sweetener in his hypothetical deal, but that won’t be necessary, especially with the 36th pick in the 2020 draft included in this article’s proposed trade. There’s no denying that Indiana could probably find a team willing to offer more for Oladipo, but this potential trade is a fair one based on his contract and injury history.
