The Kings have a fairly balanced roster, all things considered. While the possible departure of Buddy Hield could signal a need for guard help, Patrick Williams is a strong value pick. He can fill minutes at the three or four, providing another source of scoring and versatility in the Kings’ young rotation.

While Williams is more raw than some of his lottery counterparts, the base skill set is tantalizing. At 6-foot-8, he’s built like a tank. He’s strong and nimble, drawing preliminary comparisons to Danilo Gallinari. He can navigate tight spaces well and has tremendous upside as a face-up scorer.

The defense is still coming along, but Williams should comfortably slide between two — if not three — positions in the frontcourt. He has enough lateral quickness and bulk to make up for limited vertical pop. He’s the best prospect available for Sacramento.
