Many expect the Knicks to add depth behind Mitchell Robinson in the frontcourt. Enter Precious Achiuwa, another elite athlete — albeit, a very different athlete — who can give a jolt of energy to New York’s young core.

Achiuwa is a 6-foot-9 wrecking ball, with a blend of strength and quickness few prospects can aspire to. He’s a force in the open court. Get him moving downhill, and opposing defenders are liable to retreat in an act of self-preservation. He’s also a tantalizing defensive prospect due to his ability to switch onto small perimeter pieces.

The next step for Achiuwa is smoothing over his rough edges offensively. He’s not much of a shooter, nor is his feel for the game all that great. He would get plenty of reps in New York, but he’s currently not much more than an athlete. However, that could be enough.
