15. Tyrese Maxey, guard, Kentucky

Tyrese Maxey is a gamer. A winner. The man tends to make a positive impact, which he did at Kentucky despite rampant inconsistency as a freshman. Even when he’s not sinking shots, Maxey does enough as a defender and a secondary creator to earn his stay on the floor.

At 6-foot-3, Maxey has a 6-foot-6 wingspan and a strong frame, which helps him battle bigger guards and some wings. He’s a terrific point of attack defender and is equally proficient at navigating the nuances of off-ball defense. He also makes every hustle play — an easy fan favorite.

On offense, Maxey is a skilled scorer with a better 3-point stroke than the numbers would suggest. He can space the floor and works nicely as a two-guard. He has flashes as a facilitator, but Maxey should accompany a true point guard at all times. He’s not going to run the show.
