Sixers rumors: Cole Anthony is on Philadelphia’s radar
The Philadelphia 76ers are rumored to be interested in Cole Anthony.
The 2020 NBA Draft is almost here and to no surprise that the Philadelphia 76ers have been connected to some guards in the draft, including Isaiah Joe. However, it appears Joe isn’t the guard that Philly has been recently rumored to be interested in.
According to Adam Zagoria of Forbes Sports, North Carolina point guard Cole Anthony has been in contact with the Sixers among other NBA teams. It should be noted that in the same tweet by Zagoria, Anthony was quoted admitting that getting knee surgery hurt his draft stock but he doesn’t regret it.
It should be noted that Anthony had mid-season knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. During his freshman year, Anthony averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, while shooting 38.0 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from the 3-point line.

The first question is will Anthony be available for Philly at the 21st pick? According to Christopher Kline’s most recent Mock Draft for The Sixer Sense’s, Anthony was selected with the seventh overall pick. However, this draft is anything but conventional and the Sixers have the draft assets to move up if Anthony drops to the mid-teens.
In a separate article, Kline wrote about how Anthony would be the ideal outcome for Philly in the draft and while I personally think Tyrell Terry is a better overall fit on the 76ers, there’s no denying Cole’s elite upside is enticing.
It appears based on the fact that they have had contact with Anthony, Philly has some level of interest in the point guard. With this draft being unconventional anything is possible.
