Philadelphia 76ers: What does Isaiah Joe bring to the table?
By Uriah Young
Strengths
It is no secret that Isaiah Joe was primarily a scorer in college. His strengths include the ability to catch and shoot, along with his footwork and strong shooting form. He is a floor spacer for the Sixers now, should his perimeter scoring translate to the NBA. Joe can also shoot off the bounce and decide very quickly when and if to shoot. In college, his numbers back up his strengths.
Last season with the Razorbacks, Joe made 3.62 shots per game beyond the 3-point line. That ranked first in the SEC. Nationally, that made him the fourth best shooter in terms of 3-pointers made per game. His scoring average was 16.9 points per game, and he shot an astounding 89 percent from the free-throw line, which was fourth in the SEC and 14th nationally. He made three or more 3-pointers 18 times in his sophomore year and made at least one 3-pointer in 25 of the 26 games he started.
Finally, he broke his own record for 3-pointers attempted in a season last year taking 275. He set another SEC record shooting 95.6 percent from the free throw line in conference games, making 43 of 45 foul shots his last season.
