Curry’s pros and cons as the Sixers starting shooting guard.

In terms of pros, last season Curry averaged 2.3 made 3-pointers on 5.0 attempts per game. He shot at 45.2 percent shooting. As a starting with the Sixers, those shot attempts are bound to go up with a great passer like Simmons on the floor.

Curry also has some ball-handling abilities and can move off the ball in a similar fashion to J.J. Redick, who had a great two-man game with Joel Embiid. In terms of offense, there isn’t much not to like about Curry’s fit as a starter.

However, there are some glaring cons in his game as well. He’s only started 78 of a career 256 games and he’s already 30-years-old. The most games he’s ever started in a single year was 42 and that was in the 2016-17 season. He’s not an experienced starter.

He’s also a poor defender at the position. He’s only 6-foot-2 and while having a defends like Simmons and Danny Green on the perimeter would allow him to slide onto the weakest offensive players most nights, he could be a defensive liability when the postseason comes.
