The Philadelphia 76ers’ first preseason game is nationally televised.

For fans that were worried that the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t in the mix for most relevant teams in the NBA, fear no longer. According to the Sixers’ official Twitter page, the team’s first preseason game against the Boston Celtics will be nationally televised on TNT.

For fans that are out of the market and don’t have NBA League Pass, this is a time to celebrate as it will allow fans across the United States (and any other country that broadcast TNT) can see the 76ers’ first preseason game.

Implications and expectations of Sixers’ nationally televised preseason game

This is of course a rematch of Philly’s playoff series against the Celtics. Considering that the Sixers were swept in that series, fans and the team are hoping for a different outcome in the preseason.

More from Sixers News

Both teams saw some major change this offseason. Philly swapped out Al Horford, Josh Richardson, and Zhaire Smith, for Danny Green, Seth Curry, and Tony Bradley. They also signed Dwight Howard and drafted Tyrese Maxey.

Boston saw former All-Star Gordon Hayward leave in free agency and replaced him with Tristan Thompson and Jeff Teague. They also drafted Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard.

Having this game on national TV means that the world wants to see if the duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid can coexist better with head coach Doc Rivers leading the way along with them having more shooting on the court.

The pressure is on early for the Philadelphia 76ers as they already have a preseason game nationally televised, but if they prove they can handle the pressure in the preseason then it could be a good sign of things to come in the upcoming season.
