One potential trade with each Atlantic Division team: New York Knicks

The Philadelphia 76ers have enough power forwards on the roster and the New York Knicks have their fair share of point guards. The Knicks currently have Frank Ntilikina, Dennis Smith Jr., Austin Rivers, Immanuel Quickley, and Elfrid Payton who can play the point guard position.

They need to trim down the number of guards on their roster and the Sixers could help them do that.

Dennis Smith Jr. hasn’t had a good tenure with the Sixers. After showing promise with the Dallas Mavericks, he had a major drop off with the Knicks. Despite averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 assists for his career, he only averaged 5.5 and 2.9 assists with New York last season.

With the Sixers, he’d have no pressure to perform as a top lottery pick. He can come along slowly and at the age of 23, there’s still potential for him to grow as a player.

The Knicks get a stretch four in Scott, but he’s more there to match salary. The Knicks get their own 2021 second round pick back and considering that the 2021 NBA Draft is going to be loaded with talent, this is an important get for a rebuilding team like the Knicks.
