Sixers need 3 Christmas wishes to come true: Tobias Harris steps up.

After a rough playoff series in the NBA Bubble and a rough beginning to this season, the Philadelphia 76ers need Tobias Harris to step up. Harris hasn’t been able to live up to his contract, but that’s more on general manager Elton Brand than on him. Still, the Sixers need this Christmas wish to come true because they don’t want his contract to haunt them for the duration of it.

“His contract is one of the worse in the NBA and if he can change that by his play, then that would be a Christmas miracle.”

Thus far as a member of Philly’s roster, Harris hasn’t lived up to his five-year $180 million contract. Last season, he averaged 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, while making 36.7 percent of his 3-pointers. That production isn’t worth his contract, but it’s not an awful stat line by any stretch of the imagination.

His playoff performance in the NBA Bubble was awful though. He averaged15.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, while only shooting 13.3 percent from downtown. The first game this season was even worst. He shot 3-13 from the field, while ended the game with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The string of poor performances by Harris has 76ers fans in an uproar on Twitter. For Harris’ and the Sixers’ sake, he needs to step up. His contract is one of the worse in the NBA and if he can change that perception by his play, then that would be a Christmas miracle.
