Sixers contract value: Slightly underpaid

Matisse Thybulle ($1.0 million underpaid)

Because Matisse Thybulle makes only $2.7 million, living up to this contract is fairly easy. In general, if a player is contributing to the team and is on a rookie deal, that player will be underpaid. While Thybulle has been mediocre so far this season, he is worth his contract.

Joel Embiid ($3.6 million underpaid)

The fact that Joel Embiid makes $29.5 million and is still underpaid is incredible. Most max players struggle to live up to the lofty expectations, making Embiid’s success that much more impressive. Embiid has been a legitimate MVP candidate and would be even more valuable if he didn’t miss a few games this year.

Isaiah Joe ($4.6 million underpaid)

Isaiah Joe has been one of the pleasant surprises this season while being paid only $898,000. The rookie second-rounder wasn’t expected to do much but has provided reliable shooting as the team has battled injuries and COVID. If Joe continues to improve both this season and in the next couple of seasons, this contract will look even better.
