The Philadelphia 76ers are a pretty solid team in the Eastern Conference holding the top seed. They have an MVP candidate in Joel Embiid, an elite defender in Ben Simmons, one of the most efficient scorers in Tobias Harris, and one of the best shooters in Seth Curry.

The Sixers have a lot of positive things going on with their roster, however, as I wrote in the past, they need more power forward depth moving forward. While trading for one is always an option, the free agent market has some interesting options. There are at least three free agents the 76ers should consider.

3 power forward free agent options: Omari Spellman

After getting drafted at the end of the first round of the 2018 NBA draft, Omari Spellman is already out of the NBA.  Combo big man played two seasons, the first being with the Atlanta Hawks and the second with the Golden State Warriors.

He was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves last season but didn’t play for them and then was traded to the New York Knicks this offseason. He was eventually waived by the Knicks to make room for veteran big man Taj Gibson.

Spellman is currently going to play in the G-League bubble with the Erie Bayhawks, according to the Rotowife Staff on CBS.com. Spellman would be an interesting prospect because at the age of 23 years old he’s the youngest player in this list of players and has upside in terms of development.

For his career, Spellman has averaged 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds while converting 36.6 percent of his 3-point shooters. He struggles as a defender because he’s only 6-foot-8 and 245 lbs. He’s too small to defend opposing centers, but not quick enough to guard opposing power forwards.

However, he can clearly stretch the floor and if the Sixers wanna see if they can develop him into a long-term reserve stretch four, he might be worth the risk on a minimum contract.
