9. Dwight Howard

January Stats: GP 16| MINS 18.9| FG% 52.9| 3P% 33.3| FT% 47.5| TRB 9.0| AST 0.6| BKL 1.1| STL 0.4| PF 3.2| TOV 1.8| PTS 6.4

Despite losing his duties as a fill-in start for Embiid during January, Dwight Howard still did well as a backup center in a limited role for the Sixers. He had two double-doubles and nine double-digit rebounding games for the month. He was also one of the few players who wasn’t impacted by the COVID-19 contract tracing protocols.

8. Matisse Thybulle

January Stats: GP 13| MINS 18.8| FG% 33.3| 3P% 20.6| FT% 57.1| TRB 1.2| AST 1.0| BKL 1.0| STL 2.0| PF 2.4| TOV 0.2| PTS 3.6

There’s no denying that Matisse Thybulle is a stud on the defensive end. If he averaged more minutes, he’d be in the discussion for an All-Defensive team berth. That being said, his lack of offensive production is holding him back from a starting job and more. His offensive production was no exception either.

7. Tyrese Maxey

January Stats: GP 16| MINS 20.4| FG% 47.5| 3P% 33.3| TRB 2.4| AST 2.1| BLK 0.2| STL 0.8| PF 1.4| TOV 0.6| PTS 11.1

The rookie point guard was hot for a portion of the month. Tyrese Maxey had a six-game streak of scoring in double-digits. That streak included a 39-point outing against the Denver Nuggets. However, as players were coming back to the team, his role began to diminish at the end of the month. Maxey showed legit flashes of talent in January, but when the team is healthy, he’s on the fringe of the rotation.
