3. Ben Simmons

January Stats: GP 15| MINS 33.3| FG% 55.0| 3P% 0.0| FT% 65.2| TRB 7.8| AST 8.4| BKL 0.6| STL 1.8| PF 3.6| TOV 3.3| PTS 13.4

Despite recording two double-doubles and three triple-doubles, Ben Simmons is still only third on these rankings. One of the main reasons for the majority the lack of consistent aggression on the offensive end. He averaged under 10 field goal attempts per game, which can’t be the case for a player of Simmons talent.

That being said, there were several games where Simmons aggressive which is a good sign of things that could come, especially after the Harden trade almost happened.

2. Tobias Harris

January Stats: GP 13| MINS 34.6| FG% 52.9| 3P% 46.7| FT% 81.1| TRB 6.5| AST 2.7| BKL 0.9| STL 0.8| PF 2.1| TOV 2.7| PTS 21.2

Tobias Harris had a slow start to begin the season, but January was a breakout month of the power forward. Harris flirted with the 50/40/90 club and has become one of the most efficient scorers in the NBA. He made a legit case for being an All-Star this season because of that play. He scored at least 20 points eight times and had one double-double to begin the year.

1. Joel Embiid

January Stats: GP 12| MINS 31.3| FG% 55.2| 3P% 41.2| FT% 84.4| TRB 10.8| AST 2.9| BKL 1.3| STL 1.3| PF 2.5| TOV 3.3| PTS 28.9

If the month of January didn’t prove anything else, it proved that Joel Embiid should be a top MVP candidate. He had nine double-doubles and scored a minimum of 30 points six times and at least 40 points twice. The team only lost twice in the 12 games he played in to begin the year. He is playing like one of the best players in the league and clearly the best player on this team.

Despite all the issues that the Philadelphia 76ers faced last month, the team still was able to grow their chemistry which will only lead to better things.
