Sixers jersey power rankings : the superstars
#1: Joel Embiid — 17/20
- Watchability: Embiid has been a top-five player in the NBA this season. Let’s not overthink it. 5/5
- Future with team: Embiid’s contract runs through 2023 and will almost definitely get extended beyond that. 5/5
- Franchise value: Embiid has made three all-star teams, two second-team All-NBA teams, and two all-defense teams. Even if he did not play another game, Embiid would still be a Sixer great. 5/5
- Unintentional comedy: Embiid gets one bonus point here for the humor and antics he displays while interacting with other players and during interviews, but otherwise is too mainstream to score any better here. 2/5
#2: Ben Simmons — 16/20
- Watchability: Even without a jumper, Simmons is always ready to explode for a highlight dunk or deliver the perfect pass. Even his defense is a highlight reel. 5/5
- Future with team: Simmons just signed a max extension and is signed through 2025. Daryl Morey has shown that he wants to build around Simmons and Embiid for now. 5/5
- Franchise value: Simmons’s resume is actually pretty impressive. Ben was the number one pick in the 2016 draft, rookie of the year in 2018, and has made two all-star teams and one All-NBA team as a Sixer. 5/5
- Unintentional comedy: Simmons is a mainstream player and doesn’t provide much comedy, so low marks here. 1/5
