The Sixers’ temptation to deal

Most notably, Kyle Lowry comes to mind. This past week, it has been said that he’s fond of returning to his hometown of Philadelphia and competing for a championship. At what expense though? Prematurely giving up on Tyrese Maxey, Shake Milton, or Matisse Thybulle? If you believe Toronto will take a few draft picks and Mike Scott, your optimism is cute at best.

For the six-time All-Star and 2019 NBA champion, his price will not come cheap. As much as he could possibly boost the Sixers’ chances in May and June, I do not think he is worth giving up on the young talent that Doc Rivers should have a shot at developing first.

Other big name players like Bradley Beal, Victor Oladipo, and Zach LaVine will come at a hefty price, too. To keep any of the Sixers’ big three, Simmons, Embiid, and Harris, in exchange for the previously mentioned players, Elton Brand may have to throw in his first grandchild to get a deal done. We know that ain’t happening. And, as I said before, trading the young talent on the Sixers’ bench could be like selling your Bitcoin when it was at $10. I’d rather wait and see how they grow.
