On this podcast episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast, we welcome longtime award-winning Philadelphia sports personality, Neil Hartman, to discuss the current state of the Sixers.

We start things off with the roller coaster week the Sixers had recently. Lucas Johnson, Christopher Kline, and Neil Hartman dive into details regarding the huge win against the Dallas Mavericks on national television. After they finish discussing the win, they transition to an ugly loss at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They analyze the players, coaching decisions, and what it all means in the games leading up to the All-Star break.

The next topic on the table is the recently released schedule for the remaining half of the NBA season. With so many key matchups, what games are Lucas, Chris, and Neil looking forward to the most? Does a rematch against Utah entice us, or does a back-to-back series versus the Bucks have us in suspense? Are the games against both L.A. teams circled on our calendar, or is the late season Miami game jumping off the screen? Listen to find out.

The Sixers are 22-12 and in first place. At this point last season, they were 23-11. How is this season different?

The pod then compares and contrasts the Sixers team from last year to the current Sixers squad. Although their records are very similar, the trio breaks down some stark differences and offer perspective on what they could mean for the remainder of the season.

Next, conversation opens up to the idea that the Sixers could be on the verge of a dynasty. This topic stems from what Charles Barkley said about Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on TNT last Thursday as the 76ers played the Mavericks. Barkley called the young Sixers duo “Shaq and Kobe Lite” and the podcast debates the possibility of this team taking off the way the early 2000s Lakers team did.  Since Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons seem to be reaching their prime around the same time as Shaq and Kobe, the idea is not out of the question.

Lastly, the Sixer Sense social media question of the week is brought up and discussed thoroughly. The proposition was a lightning rod for debate, and you don’t want to miss how the podcast responded to the question after fans comments are mentioned.
