In this episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast, Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline jump right into the Philadelphia 76ers’ road win against the Chicago Bulls. Because of NBA health protocols, the Sixers’ two All-Stars were out, and most people assumed that Philly would lay an egg on the road. The stellar play of some role players put that notion to rest.

Lucas takes pride in his early season endorsement of Tony Bradley, a player that Philly brought in from Utah in the offseason as a third center. Chris acknowledges the great shooting of Matisse Thybulle, and the entire pod shows love to Dwight Howard, who looked more like Prime Superman than a mere backup big man.

For the Sixers in their first game post All-Star break, a huge void had to be filled due to an absent Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Against the Bulls, the entire team stepped up.

Once the postgame recap is over, the discussion heads into the topic of two specific players who could be either traded or bought out and signed by the Sixers. One player is from Denver, and the other is from San Antonio. Do they fit? What would it take for them to be brought to Philly?

After that topic is wrapped up, Lucas and Chris elaborate on the many productive aspects of Joel Embiid‘s game at this point of the season. They argue who is the only player capable of guarding Embiid one-on-one. They also analyze a comment Daryl Morey gave recently about how “unstoppable” Embiid is in the NBA. Lastly, the pod goes into the outstanding efficiency of Embiid and whether or not he will be able to maintain it throughout the season.

The final conversation surrounds the event that rocked the NBA, and the world, last year. We share our thoughts about where we were when the news hit the country that the NBA was shutting the season down because of the coronavirus.
