The Philadelphia 76ers are going to be buyers at the NBA trade deadline. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t certain players that they should try to sell high on heading into the deadline. Furkan Korkmaz in particular is that one player that the club’s front office should try to trade now and get the most for moving forward

Trading Korkmza is smart for the Philadelphia 76ers.

For the most part, Korkmaz has lived up to the hype of being a late first round pick. For his career, he’s averaging 7.9 points on 37.5 percent shooting from the 3-point line. Despite the solid stat line, he’s had an up and down season, as well as a career.

Luckily for the Sixers, he’s been on a hot streak as of late and shooting the ball very efficiently. However, he’s in the last year of his deal and because he never had his rookie option picked up two offseasons ago, he will be a restricted free agent come this summer.

While the 76ers would certainly like to keep him, there’s no guarantee he wouldn’t leave for more minutes and a big payday elsewhere in free agency. With that in mind, there seems as if there is no reason why Philly shouldn’t include Korkmaz in other trade talks or even shop him for the right price.

They could flip him for another solid rotation player. Whether it’s trading for a point guard, a stretch power forward, or just another perimeter shooter, the Sixers could use Korkmaz as a centerpiece in trade to get another solid reserve. The other way they could approach this is to use him as a sweetener in a trade for a big name target. Either way, the 76ers have options.

Korkmaz’s shooting his hot right now and he’s going to be a free agent this summer, so the best move for the Philadelphia 76ers to do is sell him high in a deal heading into the trade deadline.
