The Philadelphia 76ers starters didn’t impressive this past week. It was actually’s the team bench that played well and in particular sixth man Shake Milton. His play was the most consistent this past week and is worthy of the Player of the Week award.

Player of the Week: Shake Milton

Milton was the Sixers’ third leading in the loss against the Los Angeles Clipper. He had 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, three steals, and one foul. He also went 6-11 from the field. 0-1 from the 3-point line, and 4-5 from the foul line.

Like with most players in the blowout defeat to the Denver Nuggets, Milton had his worst game of the week in that outing. He finished with 10 points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal, four turnovers, and three fouls, while going 4-8 from the floor, 1-2 from downtown, and a perfect 1-1 from the free throw line.

Milton was the 76ers’ leading scorer in the win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He ended the game with 27 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one turnover. He converted 10-14 field goal attempts, 5-7 3-pointers, and 2-2 from the charity stripe. This was the seventh time this season that Milton scored over 20 points in a game.

Honorable Mention

Despite getting ejected in the Clippers game, Dwight Howard is worthy of an honorable mention. He played well against the Nuggets but looked like he was in his prime against the Cavaliers. In the win against Cleveland, he had 18 points, 15 rebounds, one steal, and two blocks. It’s nice to see Howard cans turn back the clock every once in a while. For those three games, Howard averaged 12.3 points and 11.0 rebounds.

For the week, Milton averaged 17.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. If he can play like this for the Philadelphia 76ers during the playoffs, then the franchise is in a good place.
