Sixers Rookie Report: Mason Jones makes Philadelphia debut
There are several interesting headlines for the Philadelphia 76ers rookies this past week. The debut of the team’s most recently signed rookie being at the top of this list. It will be interesting to see what he can bring to this roster moving forward.
21st pick, 2020 draft
Tyrese Maxey was unable to play in the blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies due to health and safety protocols. That is something to monitor moving forward. Outside of that, he was the team’s leading scorer in the blowout loss to the Denver Nuggets with 13 points. He played in two out of four games this past week.
Season averages: 7.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.2 blocks, 0.6 turnovers, and 1.1 fouls. Shooting 45.3 percent on field goals, 28.8 percent on 3-pointers, and 85.7 on free throws.

49th pick, 2020 draft
In the three games that Isaiah Joe played in this past week, he only scored in one of them. He shot a combined 1-5 from the field and 3-4 from the field. Despite being known as a 3-point marksman, Joe has had a hard time finding his shot from deep consistently this season.

After getting limited minutes, Paul Reed finally got some extended minutes against the Grizzlies and played pretty well. He had 10 points and six rebounds in just 13 minutes. It should be noted that head coach Doc Rivers views Reed as more of a power forward at this point in his young career, per Derek Bodner of The Athletic, so it seems unlikely he is in the center spot for the time being.

Mason Jones made his Sixers debut against the Grizzlies and played well in limited minutes. He had six points on a perfect night shooting. He showed promise as a scorer with the Houston Rockets and so far he’s done that with the Sixers.
