3 buyout free agent options: Gary Clark
Speaking of Mike Scott, it’s clear that Scott is probably playing his last season in the NBA. He having his worse season since the 2016-17 season. Scott should no longer be in the rotation any longer, but luckily for the Sixers, there is a versatile defender that just became available.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Denver Nuggets have decided to waive Gary Clark. Clark can play the small forward, power forward, and center positions and is best known for being a versatile defender.
Clark is 6-foot-6 and 225 lbs and his defensive versatility are similar to that of veteran P.J. Tucker. The biggest difference between the two is more that Tucker is more experienced and is a better 3-point shooting. Tucker is a dangerous 3-point shooter from the corner, whereas Clark has only hit 28.7 percent of his 3-pointers for his career.
Clark has been a negative player on offense for his career, but it was Daryl Morey, who is the Philadelphia 76ers’ president of basketball operations, who gave him his first shot at the NBA with the Houston Rockets. It’s not hard to imagine that Morey would be willing to bring Clark in to see what he can do for the Sixers.
