After the Philadelphia 76ers waived Ignas Brazdeikis early this week, the team has brought in a veteran to fill in the void at power forward, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Anthony Tolliver apparently worked out with the Sixers this past week, per Wojnarowski. Once he takes the floor for Philly, he would be in his 13th season. While Tolliver isn’t the most impressive name on this list, he’s a solid veteran that in the short term at the very least improves the power forward depth chart.

Tolliver helps the Philadelphia 76ers depth chart at power forward.

In his now 13 seasons, Tolliver has played for 12 teams, the Sixers notwithstanding, some of those teams were on multiple tenures. Yet despite being the log of an NBA journeyman since the 2008-09 season, Tolliver does have one very translatable skill that the Sixers need.

That is of course his 3-point shooting. For his career, the 6-foot-8 power forward has averaged 6.2 points and 3.3 rebounds, while converting 37.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line. Last season he averaged 3.6 points on 33.8 percent shooting from deep. It should be noted that with the Memphis Grizzlies who he finished last year with, he averaged 4.8 points on 41.5 percent shooting from downtown.

At 35 years old, Tolliver doesn’t provide too much but he can be a fill-in rotation player still either as a starter or reserve. With the poor play of Mike Scott, perhaps the front office is looking for a similar player in terms of size and skills who hasn’t lost his shot as Scott has.

Tolliver still isn’t an ideal backup center at this point either as he’s undersized, nor is he a good rebounder or defender. However, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t find himself in the rotation or that role. If head coach Doc Rivers likes what he sees from Tolliver, there’s a chance he gets a contract for the rest of the season and could become the fill-in starter for Joel Embiid instead of Scott.

While Tolliver isn’t the ideal name to grab in free agency, he’s not the worst option the Philadelphia 76ers could have gone with and there’s a chance the Sixers have found themselves a solid rotation player for moving forward.
