In the past 10 games, the Philadelphia 76ers have had a record of 6-4. Granted the team has dealt with injuries, but one of the issues that have arisen with this roster is the lack of good shooting from off guard Seth Curry.

Curry was one of the best shooters in the NBA last year and began the season shooting like he was too. However, after his bout with COVID-19, his play dropped off for a bit but then he bounced back and continued to play well. However, these last 10 games, nine of which he played in, were arguably his roughest stretch of shooting this season.

Why Curry is struggling with the Philadelphia 76ers during this season?

On the season as a whole, Curry has averaged 12.3 points on 44.7 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from the 3-point line. However, in the nine of the past10 games that Curry did play in his play has been horrendous.

In those games, he averaged 9.9 points on 39.3 percent from the floor and 32.7 percent from downtown. During that stretch, he only shot above 40.0 percent from the field five times and above 35.0 percent from deep three times. He also failed to convert any 3-point attempts twice.

It’s hard to explain why Curry has been struggling during this stretch. It’s not that Joel Embiid missed games for part of that stretch. Curry has gone 4-17 from behind the arc in the four games Embiid has returned to the lineup.

It appears that the ankle injury that recently kept him out for a three-game stretch in March may still be lingering. If he’s still feeling the effects of that injury, it could explain his rough shooting stretch.

Hopefully, if it is the lingering issues from his most recent ankle injury, he can shake it off sooner rather than later for the Philadelphia 76ers sake moving forward.
