In terms of actual news, the wasn’t too much surrounding the Sixers rookies. There was, however, one of the Philadelphia 76ers rookies who did step up in a big way after struggling to do so in the previous week.
21st pick, 2020 draft
Tyrese Maxey was the rookie who stepped up for the 76ers. With Seth Curry, Dwight Howard, and Tobias Harris all out of the Los Angeles Clippers matchup, head coach Doc Rivers turned the rookie point guard.
Maxey had nine points and three assists in 16 minutes on pretty efficient shooting as well. This is the type of game that Maxey needs to play well in order to help secure his future with the franchise moving forward. He also played two minutes against the Dallas Mavericks but didn’t do anything significant during those minutes.
Season averages: 7.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.1 blocks, 0.6 turnovers, and 1.1 fouls. Shooting 44.9 percent on field goals, 28.2 percent on 3-pointers, and 86.8 on free throws.

49th pick, 2020 draft
Isaiah Joe only recorded one minute of play and failed to make the single 3-point shot he attempted. That being said, Christopher Kline of The Sixer Sense recently wrote a very good piece on Joe outlining why he is important to the future of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Season averages: 3.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.1 blocks, 0.2 turnovers, and 0.9 fouls. Shooting 33.7 percent on field goals, 33.3 percent on 3-pointers, and 88.9 on free throws.
58th pick, 2020 draft
G-League MVP Paul Reed saw limited minutes in both the Mavericks and Clippers game. He did record two rebounds in three minutes against Los Angeles. It’s not surprising to see a veteran like Anthony Tolliver cut into Reed’s minutes. It’s something to monitor moving forward.
Season averages: 2.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.4 blocks, 0.5 turnovers, and 0.9 fouls. Shooting 47.7 percent on field goals, 0.0 percent on 3-pointers, and 25.0 on free throws.
Undrafted
For the first time during his Sixers tenure, Mason Jones failed to convert a field goal attempt. Not be confused with going scoreless as he’s done that before with Philly. However, to be fair to the young scorer, he did only play one minute against Dallas.
Season averages (76ers): 2.3 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. Shooting 66.7 percent on field goals and 50.0 percent on 3-pointers.
It’s good to see Maxey step up when called up, the Sixers will need that of him moving forward.
