Sixers podcast: 3-game losing streak | NBA’s best defensive duo?
By Uriah Young
On The Sixer Sense Podcast, we welcome Jonathan Geib to discuss plenty of key issues surrounding the Sixers. We start off with the recent games this week.
Lucas Johnson, Christopher Kline, and Jonathan open up with the blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. With their team fully healthy, the Bucks flexed on the Sixers, who were without Ben Simmons and Furkan Korkmaz. After we analyze the key moments from that game, we shift conversation towards the Phoenix game.
Against the Suns, the Sixers did not play their best, but they kept it close to the end. We look at the ups and downs of the game and give credit to Embiid for one of the most impressive misses in NBA history. Had he made that almost full-court shot, Sixers fans would have been ecstatic to take the Suns into overtime.
Joel Embiid is clearly playing through discomfort in his knee. Should the Sixers proceed more cautiously?
From there, we debate whether or not Joel Embiid is being wise with his decision to play. With his knee secured in a brace the last few games since he returned, he has been putting up great statistics. As he sees the conference lead slipping away, he has made a case for his need to play in as many games as he can for the remainder of the season. She he sit, or should he play. We discuss the matter in depth.
The next topic involves the inconsistent play of Shake Milton. With so much hype that came after his hot finish to last season, many Sixers fans had high hopes for Milton. Yet, for reasons we bring up in a discussion, we is not meeting expectations.
Lastly, we devote time to talk about, arguably, the best defensive tandem in the NBA. Lucas, Chris, and Jonathan break down how and why Ben Simmons and Matisse Thybulle are considered the top defensive duo out of all of the teams in the league.
