In this week’s episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast, Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline were fortunate to have Jordan Treske of Behind the Buck Pass join the show. Jordan provided insight into everything Milwaukee Bucks as we parsed through a potential heavyweight throw-down in the postseason.
The show starts with a brief recap of the Sixers and Bucks’ back-to-back games last week, both of which ended in Milwaukee blowouts. The trio discusses how injuries cast a shadow over the games and contemplate just how much we can take away from games in which the Sixers were missing the likes of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
Next, the conversation turns to the likelihood of a Bucks-Sixers series. Can Philadelphia retake the No. 1 seed from Brooklyn. Might the Bucks make a late surge for the top spot? Or, will we be primed for a 2/3 battle between Philly and Milwaukee in the second round?
Also discussed is the similarities between the two teams and how close a potential postseason bout would likely be. Jordan admits that the Sixers are well equipped to defend the Bucks, while Lucas and Christopher admit the opposite — Milwaukee has the personnel to give Philadelphia problems. The result is a thorough breakdown of star matchups and second units.
Then, the podcast moves to the other premier contender in the East — Brooklyn. How do the Bucks match up with the Nets? How about the Sixers? Jordan digs into which team the Bucks would rather face between Brooklyn and Philadelphia. Are the full-strength Nets unbeatable, or do the Sixers and Bucks have enough size to punish them.
To finish out the pod, Jordan, Lucas, and Chris all give predictions for how a hypothetical Sixers-Bucks series would play out. Who picks the Bucks? Who picks the Sixers? And is everyone convinced it would be a seven-game series?
