Philadelphia 76ers: George Hill has to find his rhythm soon
The Philadelphia 76ers gave up some depth, including young center Tony Bradley, to acquire point guard George Hill. Hill was supposed to be a savvy veteran who can run a second unit’s offense and an efficient shooting who can play off the ball as well.
Since he’s made his debut the Sixers, their second unit has shown more cohesion as head coach Doc Rivers has embraced a small-ball bench unit. Hill’s steady hand has been a big part of that. However, Hill has struggled shooting the ball since returning from his thumb injury and the 76ers need him to find his rhythm before the postseason begins.
The Philadelphia 76ers need Hill to find his shooting stroke.
As mentioned in the paragraph above, Hill is coming off a thumb injury which is bound to affect his shooting touch. That being written, it’s in Philly’s best interest if he could find his shooting stroke before the playoffs as he will be one of the most important bench players in the postseason.

Since debuting with the Sixers, Hill has been averaging 5.4 points and 1.8 assists, while converting 39.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from the 3-point line. Hill has career averages of 11.1 points and 3.2 assists, while making 45.7 percent from the floor and 38.4 percent from downtown.
That is a big drop for a guy the Sixers traded away three players and four second round picks to acquire. Hill has the resume to show he should be able to turn things around, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
The positive signs for the 76ers are that in the eight games he has played in for Philly Hill has shot above 40 percent from the field four times. As previously mentioned he’s also taken charge of the second unit is getting to play at a new level, which should bode well to how he should be able to get his shooting touch corrected as he gets more comfortable in this Sixers’ offensive system.
The Philadelphia 76ers need George Hill to find his rhythm sooner rather than later, but there are positive signs that he’s slowly getting there. Hopefully, it happens before the postseason as the Sixers need him hot when the playoffs begin.
