Ranking every player on the Sixers’ 2021 roster
Ranking every player on the Sixers roster — 1. Joel Embiid
Like on these rankings, Joel Embiid has proven to be the best/most dominant player in NBA. He’s a two-way force as he can dominate both offensively and defensively. On the season, he’s averaged 28.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steal, 1.4 blocks, and 3.1 turnovers. His shooting percentages are 51.5 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from the 3-point line, and 85.8 percent from the free throw line.
He’s averaging career highs in points, steals, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, and free throw percentage. His 10.8 foul shots per game leads the NBA and he’s fourth in points per game only trailing Stephen Curry, Bradley Beal, and Damian Lillard.
If it weren’t for the 20 games Embiid had missed this season due to injuries or COVID protocols he’d be the favorite to win the MVP award. Sadly it doesn’t appear he’s going to win it and now he must shift his focus to leading the Philadelphia 76ers in a deep postseason run.
Luckily, for the Sixers, Embiid has the skills to help them get to at least the Eastern Conference finals, if not the NBA finals. He’s proven to be a legit three-level scorer who can create his own shot off the dribble. This year, he’s shown he is a master at the mid-range jumper, which is a lost art by most in the league today. He’s also a very clutch shooter at the end of games.
The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the best players in all of basketball at the center position. Embiid is in his prime right now and hopefully, the 76ers have enough pieces surrounding him to help him legitly compete for an NBA title.
