Sixers storylines to watch: The Green Curry House of Three

Aptly named by the Sixers content team, the Green Curry House of Three has become a staple of Philadelphia’s offense. The Sixers have long needed floor spacers next to Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. After last season’s disappointment, Daryl Morey’s two biggest offseason acquisitions have proven essential to the Sixers’ success.

Green and Curry hit five and three 3’s, respectively, in Saturday’s Game 3 victory. The duo has shot the ball exceedingly well all series, and an early rhythm from the Sixers’ veteran sharpshooters is a positive sign. If the Sixers’ offense is to match up with better offenses on the horizon — hello, Atlanta/Brooklyn/Milwaukee — then the shooters will have to shoot.

The Sixers have gotten both leadership and production out of Green this season and this series. He continues to impart wisdom on his teammates. The famous “Danny Green cut” has been adopted by Curry, Furkan Korkmaz, and others, while his championship pedigree is no doubt valuable for a team looking to take the next step in the postseason.

Curry, on the other hand, is a career 44.4 percent 3-point shooter and was himself valuable to Dallas’ postseason push last season. There’s no reason to believe his efficiency will waver, because it never has. He’s probably the most rock-solid spot-up shooter in the NBA right now. Their continued success and rhythm is paramount.
