On this episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast, we welcome Adam Malamut to talk about his cult classic series, Game of Zones, and the current playoff matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks.

We start off with the recap of game 3, where the Sixers took a 2-1 lead against Atlanta. On the Hawks’ home floor, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris led the scoring to regain home court advantage. We analyze the game plan and execution of Doc Rivers as Philly frustrated the Hawks with stellar defense and solid offensive production.

Then the podcast goes into the recent calf injury sustained by Danny Green. We discuss the impact he’s had in the playoffs and how the team will manage without his production and veteran experience.

The next topic revolves around last week’s announcement of the NBA MVP and DPOY Awards. We debate on whether or not Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons deserved the top award, and if there could be a conspiracy against the Sixers because of “The Process” tanking strategy that Sam Hinkie employed during that span of intentional losing.

The podcast then dives deep into the journey of Adam Malamut. He offers insight on his days growing up as a Philly sports fan, being from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He also describes how Game of Zones was developed and the process by which it became a cult sensation among NBA fans around the world. Adam provides plenty of laughs with his quick wit and sense of humor. You do not want to miss his interview. You can follow Adam on Twitter here: @mutsack

We round things off with the social media question of the week. The questions asks who should get Danny Green’s minutes until he returns from a calf injury. We read responses from several social media followers on Twitter and Facebook. Listen to see if your name was mentioned!
