The Pacers’ roster is well fleshed out, so it would make sense to give Rick Carlisle what no team can have too much of — a rock-solid 3-and-D wing. Moses Moody is 6-foot-6 with a 7-foot wingspan, and already one of the better wing defenders in this draft. The Pacers could use his toughness in the second unit.
On offense, Moody has a ways to go, but he projects as a solid role player with a reliable spot-up 3 and the ability to beat closeouts with one or two-dribble pull-ups. Moody is not ready to carry a large offensive burden at this stage, but Indiana has several playmakers to ease that burden. He is an ideal role player on a team looking to contend.
Moody plays hard and is all over the place defensively. He’s smart on that end, and one can expect that intelligence to transfer over to the offensive end to some degree. He plays within himself for the most part, and gives the Indiana reserves some bulk, which they presently lack.
