2021 NBA Draft — 29. Miles McBride, Phoenix Suns

Chris Paul is old, and who knows what kind of payday Cameron Payne is in line for. That being said, the Suns can take a point guard here and be happy with the result. Miles McBride is an exciting competitor who, at 6-foot-2, is never short on hustle.

McBride defends the point of attack as well as any point guard in the draft, and offensively, he’s capable of boosting the Suns’ second unit. Payne’s zippiness has made him a valuable cog this season, and McBride is a serviceable replacement. He can get to the rim and locate shooters on the perimeter with great effectiveness.

In addition to his defense and playmaking, McBride is a confident shooter and scorer who made strides continuously at West Virginia. He would have the superb luck of (presumably) learning from CP3, with the upside of an immediate contributor on a winning team.
