2021 NBA Draft — 5. Jonathan Kuminga, Orlando Magic

Early indications are the top-5 is pretty much locked in place. Not the specific picks, necessarily, but the five players who will be picked. A lot can change between now and July 29, but for now, Jonathan Kuminga is a pretty strong bet for Orlando at No. 5.

Kuminga is listed at 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot wingspan. He is a big and physical wing, with a tight handle and shades of an impressive scoring acumen. He will need to polish his jumper to unlock his full potential, but Kuminga’s explosive first step, footwork, and touch around the basket all point to All-Star berths in his future.

While he never figured it out defensively with the G-League Ignite, Kuminga has every physical tool you could ask for. The Magic are in no hurry to win games, and Kuminga makes for an intriguing fit next to Jonathan Isaac, Markelle Fultz, and Chuma Okeke in Orlando’s young core.
