5 teams Simmons should want to be traded to: Minnesota Timberwolves
Simmons has already been connected to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the past and there are reasons why he should want to come to the T-Wolves. He would get to play with his close friend Karl-Anthony Towns, per Clutchpoints and would be a legit third best player with Towns and Anthony Edwards being better offensive options. With that in mind, below is a potential deal that would help him land there.
If the Philadelphia 76ers decide to sell low on Simmons, then the fake trade above would be a low ball deal. The Sixers get former All-Star D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and rookie forward Jaden McDaniels, along with 2023 and 2025 unprotected first round picks.
Russell and Beasley are three level scorers that can go off for 20-plus points on any given night, but make questionable offensive decisions and aren’t good defenders. McDaniels was Minnesota’s best defender last year which is something that the Sixers could always use.
Simmons gets to have his teammate George Hill join him in Minnesota. Simmons would be the third option on offense, he will be the best defender on the T-Wolves, and the de facto point guard as Ricky Rubio has proven he can’t be a starter anymore in this NBA.
