2021 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Pistons get bold, Warriors make blockbuster trade
2021 NBA Mock Draft — 15. Moses Moody, Washington Wizards
The Wizards’ lack of shooting outside Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans was a death sentence in the 2021 playoffs. While no rookie is going to solve every problem, getting another reasonably sized wing who can hit his share of 3-pointers would do the team a lot of good.
Moses Moody shot 37.9 percent from deep as a freshman. He’s 6-foot-5 with long arms and a strong frame that projects favorably on defense. The Wizards’ defense is a mess, to put it mildly, so Moody would immediately plug multiple holes. He’s also smart without the basketball, making timely cuts and succeeding within a team context. That’s essential when paired with two ball-dominant playmaking guards.
Washington will want to compete for however long Beal is on the roster. Moody is a player who can contribute to winning in year one, with the hustle, physicality, and base skill set of a modern 3-and-D wing.
