2021 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Pistons get bold, Warriors make blockbuster trade
2021 NBA Mock Draft — 30. Miles McBride, Utah Jazz
At 6-foot-3, Miles McBride is one of the best point-of-attack defenders in the draft. He has long arms and great lateral quickness, fighting over screens and sticking to his man with relentless intensity. Utah’s inability to provide resistance on the perimeter defensively is what sent them home in the second round.
In addition to the obvious defensive boost, the Jazz cannot rely on Mike Conley as the point guard forever. Jordan Clarkson is good for some buckets off the bench, and Joe Ingles does his share of playmaking, but another guard would make a worthwhile investment.
McBride is more than his defense, too. He’s a confident perimeter scorer who can pull-up from NBA range, or create off dribble penetration. He was one of the best guards in college basketball last season and looks the part of a plug-and-play prospect. He’s a good get to finish out the first round.
