5 free agents from the NBA Finals the Sixers should consider: Langston Galloway

Langston Galloway isn’t in the Finals rotation, but he played 40 games this season for Phoenix, and hit 42.4 percent of his 3s. That number alone should put him on Philadelphia’s radar. He’s more of a minimum contract candidate than a mid-level exception candidate, so there’s little financial risk on Philadelphia’s part.

A journeyman across six NBA seasons, the 29-year-old Galloway has been on both contenders and rebuilders. He brings a wide range of experience to the locker room, with a skill set worthy of notice from Doc Rivers. Shake Milton isn’t exactly flying high right now, and with Danny Green’s future in doubt, another backcourt contributor could be of use.

In the end, the Sixers would probably aim for Gallo to be more of a 10th-11th guy than a key contributor. He’s probably not more than that, but Embiid (and Ben Simmons, if he sticks around) tend to bring out the best in shooters. Galloway can bury 3s at a healthy clip, and Philadelphia’s offense is built, in part, around generating good looks from deep.

Galloway is a low-stakes, affordable name to watch. Again, the Suns are two wins from the NBA championship, but not every contender can keep its minimum contract players around. If the Suns move in another direction, the Sixers are a contender Galloway would surely consider.
