Sixers: Kyle Lowry or Kemba Walker, who’s the better option?
By Jarod Hughes
With the offseason underway, hypothetical trades for Ben Simmons and potential free agent targets have become the newest obsession for Philadelphia 76ers fans after the team’s massive collapse in the playoffs. Ben Simmons’ lack of scoring confidence and now growing aversion to going to the free throw line makes his fit next to MVP runner-up Joel Embiid even more clunky, making it harder to see Simmons suiting up in a Sixers uniform next season.
Almost every team in the league should be and will be giving Daryl Morey a call inquiring about the trade status of Simmons, and rightfully so.
But, what if the Sixers didn’t have to trade Ben Simmons…
If the Sixers keep Ben Simmons, Kyle Lowry and Kemba Walker are names to watch.
Just look at what we have witnessed in Chris Paul helping a young up-and-coming Suns team not only turn their franchise around, but make it all the way to the NBA Finals. What if the Sixers added a player that can be a primary ball-handler and effectively control the offense to help create spacing for Simmons and Embiid, with the ability to play on-ball and off-ball?
Two names that I have been constantly seeing and hearing are Kyle Lowry or Kemba Walker. Isn’t it worth considering adding one of these two players to potentially help the Sixers reach the Finals, if not the least make it to the conference finals?
