Sixers’ potential Ben Simmons trade partner: Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been linked to Ben Simmons for a long time. Now this is pretty straight forward: the Timberwolves are unsure on parting ways with D’Angelo Russell, and if the Timberwolves aren’t going to trade Russell, then the Sixers aren’t going to trade Simmons. At least, not to the Timberwolves.

Now, if the Timberwolves are willing to create a package surrounding D’Angelo Russell, the package will most likely be Russell, maybe Malik Beasley, and a first-round pick. Great for both teams, as the Sixers get a great guard who can create his own shot and is a good passer, as well as getting a great 3-point shooter in Malik Beasley who shot 39 percent from deep this year.

As far as the Timberwolves go, the trio of Simmons, Anthony Edwards, and Karl-Anthony Towns would be one of the best in the NBA. Towns is one of the best big men shooters in the game and could space the floor. Ben Simmons could boost the whole team on defense and Edwards — well, the ceiling is the limit for that kid.
