2021 NBA Mock Draft 3.0: How the picks should fall
2021 NBA Mock Draft — 13. Corey Kispert, Indiana Pacers
The Pacers could lose Doug McDermott to free agency. There’s not a more natural replacement than Corey Kispert, who played a key role in Gonzaga’s run to the national championship game. Indiana is trying to win now, so it makes sense to target an immediate contributor.
Kispert’s bread and butter is his 3-point stroke, which rivals (and probably exceeds) just about every name on the board. He’s a dynamic off-ball shooter, with a knack for off-balance shots and moving without the basketball. That said, he is not only a 3-point shooter. Expect well-timed cuts, snappy passes, and a healthy dose of one or two-dribble pull-ups or straight-line drives.
On defense, Kispert’s lack of elite athleticism is compensated for by great competitiveness and a sturdy 6-foot-6 frame. He won’t lock anyone up, but he knows where to be, and does his best to disrupt the point of attack.
