2021 NBA Mock Draft 3.0: How the picks should fall
2021 NBA Mock Draft — 19. Tre Mann, New York Knicks
The Knicks need shooting and playmaking, both of which Tre Mann can provide. He’s not a great athlete, and relies more on being slippery than explosive, but he’s a long-range threat with plenty of confidence scoring on step-backs and pull-ups.
Last season ended quicker than New York fans would have liked because of a dearth of perimeter creation. Julius Randle was locked up the entire first round, and Derrick Rose was left to carry a burden that far exceeded his skill set. There’s a path to minutes next season for Mann, and he would surely take advantage.
Defense is not Mann’s strongest point, and frankly, that may dissuade the Knicks, who abide pretty strongly by the Tom Thibodeau ethos of “play defense and worry about the rest later.” That said, as someone who needs not abide by that ethos in this article, Mann is the pick.
