2021 NBA Mock Draft — Miles McBride, Philadelphia 76ers

The 6-foot-3 Miles McBride has a 6-foot-9 wingspan and is one of the best defensive guards in the class. Philadelphia’s guard depth remains a point of weakness, with Tyrese Maxey, George Hill, and Seth Curry still not providing enough juice in the backcourt. The solution is a bonafide All-Star, but in the short-term, someone with McBride’s skill set could function nicely.

McBride would join the Sixers’ bench unit and infuse it with absolute chaos on the defensive end. He is a true spectacle at the point of attack, using his gaping wingspan to swallow ball-handlers and force them out of rhythm. If the Sixers are to trade Ben Simmons, another great point-of-attack defender could become even more useful.

On offense, McBride hit over 41 percent of his 3s last season. He’s a smart passer and generally instinctual player, who would benefit from the situation in Philly, where other guards can help run the offense. McBride doesn’t have the genes of a go-to scorer, but he would give the Sixers a lot in that second unit.
