5 shooting guard free agent options in 2021: Victor Oladipo

Surprised to see Victor Oladipo in this article considering the Sixers’ financial situation? You shouldn’t be, his health issues have severally diminished his value on the free agency. His most recent surgery to repair his injured quadriceps and his poor play this season should make it possible for the 76ers to sign him to the mid-level exception.

More from The Sixer Sense

Oladipo needs to prove he can stay healthy and playing on a mid-level exception this season to prove he’s still got it might him get a better long term deal next offseason. The last time Oladipo played more than 50 games was the 2017-18 season when he made his first of two All-Star games.

Oladipo has the chance to join a contender in Philly who can still provide him the role he’s accustomed to having and if he can’t stay healthy, then the Sixers can move on from him in just one season. If he does prove to be healthy, then Embiid has a legit All-Star shooting guard who is a 3-level scorer.

It could be the steal of free agency if the Sixers convince Oladipo to sign on the mid-level exception and he plays at his All-Star level self. It could arguably make the 76ers the favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference next season.

There are some solid options for the Philadelphia 76ers to choose from in the shooting guard free agent market. Hopefully, they can get one of these players to sign this offseason.
